This morning when I closed my trunk I noticed the dome light and the rear trunk lights will not turn off. I tried open/shut both trunks....turning the alarm on/off.....but they both stay on. I'm going to bring the car in 1st thing tomorrow but I'm concerned that the
battery
will die overnight and the lights may burn out. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.
With the car on, is there a door ajar indicator on? Checked all the interior light switches?
If you don't want the
battery
to die, disconnect it overnight?
Turn OFF the dome lights. There are tiny rocker switches on the dome lights.
They take about 2 minutes to power off when you leave the vehicle. I assume you know that and are waiting long enough? If just the dome light, perhaps you turned it on (maybe cleaning the windshield) and didn't realize it?
Thanks for the suggestions, the dome light will not turn off, even when I use the little rocker switch
next
to them. No door is ajar. Just went to the garage, even with the alarm on it still had the interior lights on. The only ones that are not on is the door ones. even with the car moving and the door open I am not getting a door ajar indicator. I'm think maybe the sensor in the rear latch has went bad???
A quick video....now there is a warning light

What did the problem turn out to be? I just woke up to a dead
battery
and when recharged, my dome lights and lower door sill lights are staying on. My domes can be turned off, but the door sill lights won't go off...
Mine turned out to be a faulty switch in the dome itself, something was loose on the board itself. . Within a few hours I had my car back. Sorry for your problems, that and the fuse box may be a good place to start
Thanks! Have an appointment tomorrow, but will check those two things, too.
let me know how it turns out
i have the same problem with my door lights, occurred to me 3 times already for the last 30 days. i had to turn the engine on then off a few times before it turns off when the door is locked.
If your ignition is on the left then turn your key too the left twice instead of just once. Just had the same issue and remembered that little step is a secondary power shut off to the system. Let me know 👍 worked for me!!
