Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

10 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Been following this channel (Motor Haus) for a while and very much enjoyed it. There will be no more content for this particular Targa going forward, however. The good news is that Bob survived the crash mostly intact, a testament to the excellent engineering of our cars. You Tube

POST 2Original post

I am glad he is OK. As a counterpoint, I investigated a crash involving a 996 a few years ago where it was T-boned by a Ford Escape at 45mph. The passenger in the 911 was killed, and there was no side airbag deployment. It was sobering.

POST 3Original post

Wow! Good to see Bob is healing up and how well the 996 did it's job and protected him. Don't know how well the 996 would do in the US against a big SUV. Makes me want to put in a full cage and fire system.

POST 4Original post

You never want to see crash structures, crumple zones, or airbags have to do their job, but its good to know that they work and work well. Hope he has a speedy recovery.

POST 5Original post

Score one for not having an engine in the front - engines don't crumple. Great video and thanks for sharing.

Any idea why no side airbag deployment?

I can't say why. But if I could show you the photos, which I can't, you wouldn't think this was a fatal accident. Sometimes, $hit happens.

POST 8Original post

Im glad thats hes physically okay. Surviving a crash like that is a real perspective changing event. One that takes plenty of time and effort to get over.

POST 9Original post

Wow, what a fortunate turn of events. This could have been really bad. My car is a 2002. I guess I'll be double-welding my rust repair!
