Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I remember when I was working in London , years ago.I took my 944S to the annual service to a P service place. They replaced the front pads.No problem.
Leading evidence: 'Replace front pads.no problem' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check tell you how many mm were left' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You only have to get them replaced when its a case of MOT failure which I think happens when the rust is so severe it causes pitting (pitting means uneven surface so pads actually touch less surface area of the discs, hence braking is much less effective)

didn't the opc 111 check tell you how many mm were left on the pads etc?

I,ve only done around 5.5K since buying the car and took it for an MOT today to hear that it has failed because the front discs are badly worn on the inside surface and need replacing (cica 350 quid).

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought a C2 from an OPC a year ago and of course the car had the 111 inspection and warranty.
I,ve only done around 5.5K since buying the car and took it for an MOT today to hear that it has failed because the front discs are badly worn on the inside surface and need replacing (cica 350 quid).
I haven't driven the car hard nor have been on any track days. Is this usual wear or were the discs not up to scratch when I was sold the car.
Do I have any case against the OPC to offset some of the costs?
Thanks
D
Brake parts do wear out....even without driving.Much.
I remember when I was working in London , years ago.I took my 944S to the annual service to a P service place. They replaced the front pads.No problem.
Next year , another P shop replaced the same front pads , they said they were really bad.... I had driven less than 3000 miles. No track or high speed driving at all. Just a few trips to France and so on. And I asked where are the badly worn old pads , they said mechanic throw them away already... Yeah , right.
They were rather shocked when I brought back my previous years service invoice with the mileage and everything , showing that the pads really should have been almost as good as new ones. After a short negotiation with the service manager , we got that sorted out...
But , no matter what , they could be bad. I don't know how they can say , just by looking that the discs are worn ? From the grooves ? Or from the rusty looks ? Measure the discs yourself , just to be sure.
Hi
Are you sure they said "badly worn" and not "badly corroded"
Porsche discs are notorious for rusting on the inside, especially if the car is put away after washing.
Could easily happen over a short period of time regardless of miles (infact the less miles the more likely)
Ironically, it could be the fact you have not done many miles that has led to the failure- brake discs tend to corrode on the inside, and this will be worse if the car isn't used.
As said above, they can be skimmed.
Discs rust easily, and particularly on the inside. You only have to get them replaced when its a case of MOT failure which I think happens when the rust is so severe it causes pitting (pitting means uneven surface so pads actually touch less surface area of the discs, hence braking is much less effective)
In the future: after washing or before parking up after a drive in the wet try and get some heat into them with some spirited driving and braking.
Now: Design911.co.uk are doing a good package for pads & discs. Search this forum for a thread on exactly what you need to order (I think thread subject is "save yourself £800") Get them fitted by an indie or even just a good non porsche garage.
If you live within driving distance of Oxfordshire I suggest you try
www.autofarm.co.uk
as they can skim them for you if they're not worn down to limits.

To save you searching, You need a pair of discs, a set of pads, a fixing kit, anti-squeal shims and 4 caliper bolts. As the wear sensors haven't been activated you don't need these so they are optional. It is a simple job and takes about 1 hour per wheel.
The tools you need are: a 10mm male alen key socket, a torque wrench (caliper bolts are 85 Nm) some pad spreaders and a pair of nedle nose pliers to remove the "R" clips.
On a 1 to 10 scale of difficulty, it is about a 2.
