Yep you are correct it was in fact week 20 of 2021 production what we are talking about here although I seem to recollect there was also an issue with a small number of early run 4.0 GTS.

It is clearly a completely different car with a different cost running cost driving dynamics and appeal.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Personally, think there are more than enough of these things gathering dust in storage facilities to prevent much by way of a price spike, even bearing in mind the likelihood that they won't be made for much longer, especially when you consider the broader outlook for using cars like this isn't great.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Are there any issues with these cars?
Any engine issues or main areas to look out for?
Loads for sale at the moment and just wondering if it’s the climate at the moment with everyone struggling or if there are any major potential problems.
Thanks in advance
PADM failure quite prevalent although this affects several other Porsches is no big deal doesn't normally affect driving or use and is covered under warranty anyway.
No engine or other issues afaik and apart from PADM fault on one side a couple of months ago fixed under warranty mine has been faultless over 4 years owned from new and 6k miles.
Great package at the money btw a huge improvement over the 981 GT4 and not just the engine btw.
85% of a GT3 (991.2) for 60% of the money.
I don’t think there are loads available
OPC have only got 9 manual and 8 PDK before you start wanting LED’s, all leather and PCCB’s then there are hardly any
AT has only about 10 cars 2022-2023 sub 10k mikes
Maybe a few high mileage early 2020 Manuals knocking around but for time of year supply seems limited imo
Compared to RS SRS which are still in production supply looks thin
Just my opinion, had my GT4 from new for 18 months and it’s a dream

My 718 GT4 (owned from new) is currently in to have the common PADM fault done, however my particular car also seems to have some sort of serious battery drain to it. It's been at my dealer for over a month now, and they still don't have an answer for it. It's had a new battery and a few other bits done now (all under warranty) but still no luck.
I haven't seen any other cars have this issue though, so hopefully just mine. Don't think I'll be getting it back until the new year
Can’t remember which year it was but there was a stop on build due to engine failure. Some cars had new engines and others (which customers weren’t happy about) were rebuilt!

Affected a small number of early run late 2019 cars primarily due to possible issues with some con rods.
Porsche replaced the engines none were rebuilt in the UK afaik.
I thought it was later than that 21MY January 2021 for about 3 months with some cars waiting up to six months for parts? Whatever it was discussed on here so a little bit of searching will find the original post but N America got new engines and not rebuilds

I've had both gearbox mounts fail in 12 months, you cannot tell the difference IMO, but annoying that every time you start the car you get a fault on the dash.
As above if you have warranty they are covered, if not it's not a cheap fix. Approx £900 for the mount and around the same in labour, so £1800 per mount. Then as it's a GT car Porsche advise you to have a geo setup at around another £500. And if one fails the other will likely follow so you could be at over £5K if you don't have warranty.
Only other thing that I've encountered as little as yesterday is the cabin fan wasn't working, took around 20 mins for the thing to start blowing. This issue has been around since the 981 and I suffered with it then. The fan sticks for some reason, always at this time of year, either let the car warm up, or it's a case of get yourself under the bonnet, remove the scuttle panel, scrape your knuckles as you get your hand inside the heating system airbox and spin the fan by hand. It'll then work for another 12 months.

What battery drain issue did you have? I’ve also had voltage issues, car running as low as 12.2v when driving but when you have auto blip enabled it sits at a more normal 14.4-14.8v.
OPC are not really interested unless there is a fault code showing or it’s a non runner.

Yes it was all 4.0 engines. I thought it was something like stop from 1/21 to 3/21 not sure where week 20 fits into Model year which now normally starts around June/July.

Much like yours, my dealer wasn't really interested in the issue, despite it going to them 3/4 times previously with me telling them its had an issue and them coming backing to me and telling me that there wasn't anything wrong with the car, even with Porsche Assist coming out to me several times when I'm out and about after parking the car up, coming back to it and it not starting, so had to phone for a jump start.
The cars been with them nearly a month now, every time they want to move it they have to jumpstart it as it wont hold any charge, despite having a brand new battery. They are still investigating the issue at the moment, but are now willing to admit there is an issue with the car, which is progress I guess!
Tbh, I didn't notice any change in voltage between modes as I always drive with autoblip on, so we could potentially have the same Issue. Mines a March 2022 car, what reg is yours? Might be an issue with cars produced around the same time?
I don't use the car all the time, it does spend a lot of time parked up to be honest, but I always keep it on trickle charge and turn it over every couple of weeks to make sure it doesn't sit dormant and neglected.
I just hope they get it sorted soon as my warranty is due to run out in a couple months
They are a great buy at the moment probably about the best value sorts car you can buy along side the Emira.
I had the PADM fault on both my mounts but otherwise no problems. The cage twanged over bumps which is normal my new RS does it.
I'm not convinced they will stay at these low prices especially if Porsche actually do go electric with the new ones it's the last chance to buy one of Porsches very best cars.

There are lots for sale before you start massively limiting the options with mileage, age and seller restrictions.

The problem is they built a lot of them. And they built a fair few 981 GT4. And zillions of 991 GT3 and now 992 GT3.
So, for the 718 GT4 to go up a lot, realistically all those GT3s have to go up a lot. It's not realistic to expect a 718 GT4 to end up more expensive or even the same price as a 991.2 GT3. Likewise, the 981 GT4 would have to come up a lot, too. The market for a £100K 718 GT4 would be limited if you could get a 981 GT4 for £50k. Right now the market only values the 718 slightly higher than the 981.
Anyway, there's oodles of low-mile Porsche GT car supply. So even factoring in the possibility that they won't be able to build more of them for much longer, the sheer quantity of barely used GT cars built in the last decade makes it hard to imagine much of a spike in values, at least in terms of the high-volume models like a regular GT4 and GT3. There's far, far more of those than there are things like a regular manual 997.2 Carrera, they really have cranked the production up massively.
May be so but the supply of new ones it's switched off now and might not come back on. Takeup on a turbo GT4 wouldn't be high and a hybrid would be prohibitively expensive. I think Porsche were pushing their luck with the prices of this 718 generation
Now the finance market is dropping off they will not be able to sell as many cars if they do make another GT4. Porsche had a lot of trouble selling the GT4RS cars they made.
It's an odd time for lots of different cars all in their last iteration as petrol/manual etc but the economy is in the toilet so nobody is buying. It's the sorry of time in history where you wish you had a big unit to fill with all these cheap cars that are around and likely to go absolutely stratospheric at the end of the decade.

The UK has only 332 991.1 GT3s and c 600 981 GT4s c600 718 GT4 manuals and a similar number of 991.2 GT3s. Hardly big numbers and further restricted by spec nuances such as CS buckets and ceramics etc considering there are c1250 458 Ferraris which everyone knows are a relatively rare sight also values of these have firmed up substantially of late too.
The 718 is worth around 10 to 20 percent more than the equivalent 981 and this will continue if not widen as the cars better chassis dynamics and way superior engine v the 981 is increasingly recognised. Further factor in warranty implications btw.
No one is suggesting the 718 GT4 will be worth more than the 991.2 GT3. It is clearly a completely different car with a different cost running cost driving dynamics and appeal.

Hardly big numbers
I'd say they are. In really broad brush terms, Porsche built / is building the 991 and 992 GT generations (including Cayster) at a full order of magnitude more volume than the 996 and 997 generations. And it's not like 996 and 997 GT3s are worth zillions on account of their dramatically lower production volumes.
No doubt the odd very low volume individual model with particular appeal (997 4.0 etc) will attract big premiums. But at any one time there are a very large number of of low mile late model Porsche GT cars to choose from. The supply side is copious.
You then have to factor in demand side issues like increasing limitations on use. There are getting on for about 500 cities in Europe with restrictions on combustion car use of some kind and that is hardly going to be reducing. Many of those cities have plans to go zero emissions by around 2030. Europe isn't the whole world, no doubt life will be easier for longer in the US etc. But generally that kind of thing is going to reduce demand not increase it for these kinds of cars. The ability to use them is only going to narrow. I think that will reduce demand to at least some degree.
Also think they're less appealing as static art installations than some other alternatives. The driving bit really is pretty central to their appeal, even if in reality most of them don't get driven much. And if it gets harder and harder to drive them...
Anyway, we'll see what happens. Personally, think there are more than enough of these things gathering dust in storage facilities to prevent much by way of a price spike, even bearing in mind the likelihood that they won't be made for much longer, especially when you consider the broader outlook for using cars like this isn't great.

Got my car back a week or 2 ago, so thought I'd update on this. After a full strip down of my car, it was found that when my car had PPF installed, the installers had nicked a wire in one of the wing mirrors (presumably with one of the blades they use to cut the film?) Which was causing the battery drain issues in my car. 1 new wire later and the car is back with me, and had no issues since.
