Thought about going that route, but I think the cover panel provides a simple, clean look with any discontinuities pushed to the outer edge.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hello everyone I have done searches on this forum and others for delete solutions . Basically what I found was either buy a bumper cover designed not to use them or make/buy a delete cover panel . Nothing wrong with either . But I am thinking about another solution . Keep the OEM bumper cover , remove the bumperette brackets and backfill the square holes in the cover . As an example someone could 3D print two squares with a flange on the perimeter . Obviously have to work out the thickness but when right you install/insert from the back and use epoxy or urethane adhesive to hold in place . You would have to butter/finish the license plate side but if done correctly it will look like a factory finish . I can't be the only one that has thought of this approach . Any of you done something similar ? How did you do it ? Any pics ?

POST 2Original post

Thought about going that route, but I think the cover panel provides a simple, clean look with any discontinuities pushed to the outer edge. Any difference in material/paint/color/finish is more noticeable than the panel itself. You really need to be looking at from a foot or two away to see the lines. Ultimately when I get around to a full repaint, I'll just have the holes filled.

POST 3Original post

Hey guys- I just went down this path, with a similar thought process.. Had spoke to my body work guy on the rear clip, to fill holes do paint work. Dollar for dollar, the delete panel hands down was the better route to go. I would like to see it done the other way to compare, however, the car does really blend well by adding the panel alone. For the cost of $175-$275 painted, I feel its steal (and theres a special Im seeing online now) @996C438 if you decide to do some custom work, would be very interested to see it
