Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

12 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

can any one help me? - iam thinking of buying a new set of wheels with tyres ive been offered- genuine 997 carerra III 5 spokers. will they go streight on my 99- 996 c2? any one an ideahow much are they worth? :?: cheers gents

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

no- 18`s fronts are 8j 18 h2 et 57 if that helps?

POST 4Original post

Stanard 18s on the 996 (Facelift) are: FRONT WHEELS ARE 8Jx18-ET52 AND THE RECOMMENDED TIRE SIZE IS 225x40x18 REAR WHEELS ARE 10Jx18-ET65 AND THE RECOMMENDED TIRE SIZE IS 285x30x18

POST 5Original post

Can't remember what the offsets are for the 18" on the 996 - think it's 52 Front and 65 rear. As long as the offsets are the same, they'll be OK. It doesn't sound like these are right though. You can space a smaller offset, but not take away one that is too big.

POST 6Original post

Spacers needed, but are the 997 wheels off a wide or a narrow bodied car?

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

not sure which body they were from. i sipose the only sure way is to pop them on which the opc didnt seem to keen on- perhaps they thought i was going to p*!s off with them? strange chaps these op dealers

POST 8Original post

You'll need to make sure they still retain the original geometry. If you Google for a wheel offset calculator, you'll see if the offsets work

POST 9Original post

Chris, Those are the Mk1 GT3 wheels and they came with 5mm spacers as standard... I don't know/think those were the same sizes as standard on the regular 996 (facelift)?

POST 10Original post

They were the sizes for the facelift Carrera 18" 5 spokes.

POST 11Original post

Ah, cool. Interesting that they really were swap'n'play for the Mk1 GT3...

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

so adrien- are we saying they are a streight swap? any ideas od a value?
