Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

Hi folks, 1st post, got my order in with an OPC in England. Not really up to date on how all the Porsche leather options work though. What I'd like, is the seats in a deep red colour (to contrast against my Seal or Atlas Grey paint), but the rest of the interior in the standard black. So my questions are: 1. Can you get a deep-red colour for the seats? (do Porsche do one, and how much would it be? or can they match a sample, and how much would it be?) 2. If they CAN do the seats, do you HAVE to have the rest of the interior in that colour, or can you just choose which bits are that colour (or none at all)? In an ideal world, I'd like to have, say, the gear-stick gaiter, and door inserts in the same colour, but the rest of it just black (especially the dash, which I hate in any colour apart from black). Thanks! ps, is there any way to change the clock on the site (as it's US time)?. Tried my profile but couldn't see any way to do it. Edited by - bungle on 09/30/2005 12:25:44 PM

POST 2Original post

What you are wanting to do will only be available through Porsche 'Exclusive Options'. The first few months of Cayman production will not be available with any (or very few) exclusive options to my knowledge. So if you want a Cayman in the next couple of months you will not be able toorder anything other than mostly standard options. Youmay beable toorder it now the way you want it........but I would guess it would take 6, 8, or even 12 months before you see it. Most dealers don't even have the full Exclusive Option list for the Cayman at thispoint, so you will probably have to look long and hard for a dealer that is willing to work with you at this point.......its just too early in the game to do some of the things you want. Good luck with trying though!

POST 3Original post

Thanks Atlas Croc- it could be a bit of a wait then for my nice red leather. Oh, and probably quite expensive as well, if it's thru the Exclusive program! (none of which will be recouped at resale of course!!). Black leather it will no doubt be then. Just been reading the articles on this site, and the one in this article http://www.planet-9.com/article_read.asp?id=16&p=3 seems to have a red(ish) leather. Do you think this is actually red, or just terracotta in a funny light?

POST 4Original post

That has to be terracota. It is to light for cocao. JHellow

POST 5Original post

Yes, that's Terracotta......and it looks much brighter in person......not bad, you just have to be ready for it. Porsche still has a few other red leathers in their catalog......but as you have stated its all through the Exclusive Program and is $$$.

POST 6Original post

Red seats on Seal would look/fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/thumbsup.gif, would add alot of time to your order, as stated in many threads alot of options still not available. cheers

POST 7Original post

oh yes! I can dream...../fckeditor/editor/images/smiley/MWPX/heart.gif I'll ask the question anyway at the OPC, if only to have a laugh at the response (the amount of time it would take, and the cost!!)
