This is not a probability of success.

Reason I ask is that it would be quite handy to be able to use the system with my EE account separate from my normal mobile number?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, Just wondered if anyone knew if my 2002 Carrera 4's hands free system will only work with BT or Vodafone or is there an upgrade I need to do to allow it to work with EE which is my preferred provider? Reason I ask is that it would be quite handy to be able to use the system with my EE account separate from my normal mobile number? If it is an upgrade then it is going into my PSC on Tuesday and I could ask them to update the carrier settings. Many Thanks.

POST 2Original post

Sorry, but PCM1 is limited to operators who still support the old 900Mhz network. Bear in mind the system is 18 years old, and you know how quickly mobile technology advances. Best you could do would be to use an O2 or Voda SIM and set up a divert to it.

Ah, Great Richard, I had a spare o2 Sim floating about, so I bunged that in and it works fine. I always carry a spare phone in all of my cars, so it made sense to use the built in one in case of a flat battery etc.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
