Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

Hi Everyone, I'm replacing the AOS in my 99 C4 and discovered this cable that wasn't connected to anything when I removed the alternator. I traced it going back into the cable loom, but there is nothing in the area that is missing a connection. Any ideas? Area right behind alternator. Thanks in advance!

POST 3Original post

There is a plug back there that is not used on all cars. I think it is something for the tip cars. I only know this because I had to swap wiring harnesses one plug at a time, and there was one plug left over.

Thank you Sleepy, I have both of those connected. I think it might be what Kris said and something for the tip since this is a manual. Thank you Kris as well.
