My question is what is the widest set I put on my narrow body 996, but not stick out past the wheel arches?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

OK, I am sure I am going to get some hate mail on my question, as I am sure it has been asked a million times, but here goes. I recently purchased a 2000 911 Carrera Cabriolet that came with the factory 17" wheels, as well as a brand new set of ESM-004M wheels, unmounted, and still in the original packaging. The sizes are: Front: 18x8.5 ET:45 Rear; 18x11 ET:50 I mounted both the front and rear wheels on one size of the car, and they look like they will be too wide, once I install tires. These wheels have the deep polished aluminum lips, which I like. My question is what is the widest set I put on my narrow body 996, but not stick out past the wheel arches? By the way, these are not center hub wheels, the large center cap covers the bolt holes. Thanks to all. Scott

POST 2Original post

I have (18 inch ) 8.0/50 in the front and 11.0/63 in the rear on my 2000 Cab. They came off a C4 and have no fitment problems. My rear tires are 285/35/18

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Interesting. I will have to do some research on the offsets. Thanks for the info.

POST 4Original post

I run 11 inch wheel in the rear with 57 offset and with 295/35 , front are 8.5 wheels with 35 offset and 235/40. I wouldn't do anymore offset on C2
