Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, I have a 996 C4S on an 03 plate that has a malfunctioning Bose external amplifier. Can anybody advise me where I could get it repaired? Or replaced with an used unit? I have been advised by a recognised Porsche specialist that Bose want over £400 + vat for a new unit that seems a bit steep just to play some CD's. The amp No: 996 654 33303 Thanks for reading this and I'm hoping you can help. Cheers Steve Wade

POST 2Original post

Steve! What exactly is the problem? If it is sporadic sound failure, there is a software update to fix that. If the amp is dead, I would suggest getting a used replacement. Try http://www.boxsterbits.co.uk . He is a genuinely helpful chap, and always seems to have the amps in stock, even when they aren't shown on his site. Please mention my name if you contact him.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post
