boxster base
. Having problem
Checked no power to each fog light
Checked all fuses. Is there something else to check?
Just checked to see if there is a relay involved, but my results indicate that there is no relay. They are powered by the FRONT CONTROL MODULE, which receives a signal and processes that signal to deliver power to the lights. You may need to use a scanner to troubleshoot this to see if there is a fault present. Have they worked previously? If not, it’s possible they were coded off by a previous owner.
@Pmkoc
, you've started 3 threads about your fog lights. It would have been better to keep it all together so people inclined to help wouldn't have to go searching for info already addressed.
There as been other recent discussions addressing misconceptions about how those lights work. I assume you've searched for related threads.
But here goes....
Does your 987.1 have HID (bi-xenon) lights?
How are you turning the fogs on? One recent thread mentioned pulling the switch knob out.
Does your rear fog light work?
Have you looked at the 997.1 wiring diagram already posted (and probably referenced by @WTCChuck above)?
987.1 Front End Control unit wiring diagram
sorry about that will combine
I do have hid headlights
Rear fog light works
Pull once for front pull again for rear fog lights
Someone with a
987.1
and HID needs to verify this, but I think those round lights are not fogs if your car was ordered with bi-xenon. They can be configured to be daytime running lights. That's what I remember being discussed in a recent thread but I'm not sure if it was for
987.1
or .2 or both.
My
987.1
base has hid headlights wit front fog lights with a small park light bulb. Year drop shaped light
Agree with Chuck,
Front control box needs to be coded.
I know the control box works the fog lights and the front trunk light.
