The OPC has replaced the drivers window membrane and sealed the dashboard plate behind the battery mounting with epoxy & underseal & also cleaned the drain pipes - but there is still water on the carpets.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I am suffering from rainwater water ingress to the drivers footwell on my 2002 996 C4 cabriolet, tiptronic, 75K miles. The OPC has replaced the drivers window membrane and sealed the dashboard plate behind the battery mounting with epoxy & underseal & also cleaned the drain pipes - but there is still water on the carpets. Any ideas - as a great car? Mike

POST 3Original post

I would agree. I had water in the passenger footwell also. It turned out to be a blocked drainage hole.

POST 5Original post

There are a number of Drain Holes in the Cab. From your report your local dealer has looked at this Is it both sides or just one. Sometimes your local specialist will have more experience of earlier vehicle RichardH will now see this post and come up with other ideas

POST 6Original post

Possible leak through the mirror mount. Had it on my 986 and has been covered here before on either 986 or 996 (sorry, can't remember which).
