Also should add that having come from 964RS and 968CS, the modern Porsche is an utter pain to change pads on, what was once a ten minute a wheel job is now a bit of a nightmare, having to remove the entire calliper and juggle brake pads, brake sensor wires and bolts all on a short length of not very flexible bundy !

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have done quite a few track days in my 981 Cayman S ( on steel brakes ), it's a great track car, but the brakes in standard form are the weakest part of the car. Particularly at Donington, after ten hard laps the brakes were getting very noisy, and beginning to feel "rough" through the pedal. I'd say they are excellent for a standard road car, but not quite good enough for a track day regular. Has anybody played with Pagids, or maybe Endless please ?

POST 2Original post

Performance friction 08 are fantastic, ferodo ds3000 endurance are also very good pads but not sure if you can get them for that brake caliper. If you are using road tyres though, ferodo DS2500 or brembo hp2000 are also great compromise pads.

POST 3Original post

I run rs29 on my road car great pad 10 laps at Donnington at a time is enough though take a break and do a good cool down lap.

POST 4 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Have been in touch with Performance Friction, they don't do a pad yet .
