Hi every body
has anyone tried the liqui moly 5w40 motor oil molygen ?? ( green color !!)
thanks and regards
christ
I'm not sure what you mean by green color, but I've been using LiquiMoly in all of my cars for years. It has been one of the best off-the-shelf oils I have used for my track cars that I drive to and from the track.
Make sure you get full synthetic.
This. It contains a green dye (visible with a black-light).

This is the stuff I run:

Yeah, that's what I'm getting. Since I've got no leaks, that green stuff isn't worth the extra cost.
Do you recommend flushing first with
Liqui Moly 2037 Pro-Line Engine Flush
? Or is it just a waste of money in a well maintained engine?
I run Liqui Moly Leichlauf High Tech 5W-40; 5-6k range DYI filter/oil changes, very happy car
changed to Liqui Moly Molygen 5w40 from LM 5w40 high tech
results: lifters slight noise DISSAPPEARED!!
quiter idling
Not meant to hijack the thread. Changed to Amsoil European Car Formula 5w-40 Improved ESP Synthetic Motor Oil. I was smoking up a storm with Mobile 1. I am at about 10% of the amount of smoke using Amsoil over M1. This car will never see Mobile 1 again. Hope the Liqui Moly works as well.
The full synthetic Liqui Moly is excellent oil and one of the best you can buy off the shelf. You won't regret it and you car will thank you.
We use Liqui Moly motor oil on all our
Porsche
vehicles. Highly recommended!

Is this from the Molygen 5w-40 having a slightly higher (~10%) viscosity than the Leichlauf High Tech 5W-40 ?
Hi Folks...old thread revival I know, but this came up in a search. i have a
Cayman
987.1
which as you may know is prone to the doom and gloom bore scoing. Having recently acquired the car summer of 2025, the shop I decided to go to used this oil for it's first change. It seems to be an excellent oil on paper, and I have had no issues with it in the short period of time of ownership, other than an
AOS
failure 4 months after taking ownership. I have of read of people swearing by using Driven DT40 as it offers higher levels of Moly to protect components, but also can (apparently) contribute to premature catalytic failure.
I did have the engine scoped as part of the PPI and cylinder walls looked clean with 89,000km (55,300mi) on the clock.
Seems this is a good oil to continue with, but am open to hear feedback and/or criticisms of oil comparisons.
