Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

check the hoses to/from the heater core near the battery.
Leading evidence: 'Check hoses' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check hoses' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all,
Odd issue surfaced on my 996.2. The fan speeds, AC, display all work well, however I can only get warm air to come out of the vents when I select “Hi” (max) temp. At 28.5 and below it’s just cool, ambient temp.
anything obvious I can try? Thanks
check the hoses to/from the heater core near the battery. Should be hot and if so then I think you can have narrow the problem down to the heater flap issue. The flap can fail and dropped down -- or get stuck in a fully up position -- so no air is routed through the heater core properly.
Thanks Damo, it’s odd because it blows hot on max setting and cool below 29.5 degC, the fact i still have some control would suggest (to me at least) that the flap isn’t stuck or failed, but I don’t know the inner workings so shouldnt really comment. I’ll find out if the hoses are hot. Cheers
Then it could be the temp sensor. There is one by the passenger side air vent. I had the opposite problem with it constantly blowing ice cold until I replaced this sensor. They are expensive, but I picked one up from Douglas Valley breakers for about £30 4-5 years ago.

So.. I took the car out for a spin today... When I started her up the aircon (in Auto mode) went on full blast with cold air blasting ...even after 5mins driving... No change.. I could only reduce the blowers by increasing the temp control to 29.5 ... And then it only dropped by 3 lines on the...

As above, the interior air temp sensor behind the passenger vent. I’ve just resolved the same issue on mine
the part new is sooo expensive but I bought a used one. It takes about 15 mins to change, just be careful when you remove and replace the vent.
