Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

My front bumper center insert keeps coming loose and pushing inwards when I go above about 60mph. The front bumper was removed and painted recently by a bodyshop, and I'm guessing the insert was removed during painting and not replaced properly. It looks like there are tangs on the black insert that would need to be squeezed in/engaged in the oval slots in the bumper, and could only be done from behind - meaning the bumper would have to come off to fix this? Has anybody come across this or got any advice? Thanks, Nick

POST 2Original post

take it back to the body shop and have them fix it. If they messed it up then they HAVE to fix it

POST 3Original post

+1. Take it back and make them fix it right. When you go to pick it up, poke at it with your hand and see if it stays in... it should. brad

Front Bumper Insert (Frames) There are hook tabs and retainer loops moulded into the black frames (right, left and center front and rear frames) and bumpers but you have to "clip" them in from the rear and they are a very tight fit. You won't do it without taking the front bumper off. (I know, because I've had mine and others off to fit stainless mesh and perforated grills) It's relatively easy but time consuming and they might have broken some of the tabs/retainers taking it apart (easilly done if you're not careful). I'd definitely take it back!
