Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

15 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • Rennlist: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have the part numbers for the green, blue and white plugs that go into the mk2 cluster? Mine r disintergrating and without the locks i fear cluster issues.

POST 2Original post

Are these them? https://www.suncoastparts.com/produc...X6CLPLUGS.html

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Yes that is them, thx ordered but way too much $ for $6 worth of plastic

The plugs you are describing are for a MK1 cluster. MK2 cluster are blue, green and grey. Suncoast has them for $57.

POST 5Original post

The blue Mk2 plug is a VW part, 8L0972977D. The green one ends in "C" and and I suspect the other colors have different letters after them. They're still expensive.

Has anyone figured out who manufactures the connector? The VW connector is $33.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The threads i read said it was Tyco but they wont sell to an end user. Im guessing Sunset has a connection in Europe that is buying them at 5-10k units at a time and getting them shipped in.

Don't see anything from TE that looks like the Mk1 connectors with 26 terminals (if I counted that correctly). For something that looks like the Mk2 (32 terminal?), this one is still active: https://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1326140-1.html The one that looks closest to the Mk2 connectors not so much (i.e. "Do not use for new design"): https://www.te.com/usa-en/product-966661-3.html

POST 9 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I think that 1st one is a mk2 and the 2nd is mk1. Both have a 10k min unit order.

POST 10Original post

Product drawing for the second one actually states "Drawing only for VW/AUDI and their suppliers"

POST 11Original post

So, you can source the connectors but what about the pin extractors?

POST 13 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

No need to repin. The inner plug slided out of the colored housing complete. If u wanted to repin those pins just have a tab that u push in with a pick and they pull out from the bottom.

POST 14Original post

I have a spare Blue and White connector if that helps you. PM me.

Thx for the offer but save it for the next guy. I already have the kit coming next week.
