Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

3 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The fuel gauge on my '01, 3.4 Coupe has started to read full all of the time even after driving for more than 200 miles. Any suggestions as to why this might be? I have just had the front to rear A/C pipe replaced at an OPC and wonder if something has been disturbed. On filling the tank today I noticed that there seemed to be an abnormal amount of vacuum when I undid the fuel cap. All suggestions gratefully received, thanks.

POST 2Original post

My sending unit failed & I ran out of gas while the gauge showed 3/4 full. Had it towed 100 miles to a dealer where they replaced it. That one failed within month's. Since a dealer installed it they replaced it again free of charge.

The 996 has a fuel system calibration procedure, yours may need to be reset.
