Looking for some help. I need to replace my 07
Homelink
switch assemby. I searched and found one (possibly) at German parts. Anyone out there have any experience replacing the assembly? I can get the switch out of the roof but I am wondering about connector and will it throw any codes with the new unit? Any advice would be most appreciated. Also any tips where one can be found in case German Parts comes up short?
It shouldn’t throw any codes. Just pop out the old one and put in the new one. I think the programming is saved in the module behind the bumper, so might not even need to reprogram your openers.
Your local dealer should be able to get you a new switch. Or you can order one from a dealer online. It is part number 987-613-225-01-A05. There are also a few used ones on ebay, but they are about the same price as new.
Knowing how sensitive these cars are with bulbs etc was the reason I was thinking it can possibly throw some code. My other concern is popping the connector off the switch module. I am guessing there is some catch or maybe you have to squeeze somewhere on the plug. It is on there pretty good. Hopefully I can locate the replacement module. Thanks a million for chiming in and giving some insight. That is the great thing about this forum. Us

Thanks, mine has developed a "rattle". The wife and I searched for the culprit on several drives and narrowed it down to the dang
homelink
switch
This just reminded me of a sleazy thing my former dealer did to me while my car (2010 C) was in for an extended repair (needed a new engine under warranty). For some reason it took almost a month to get the car back. When I went to pick it up, the Service monkey drives it up to me at the Service Adviser's station, hops out sends me on my way. I just happened to look up at the rear view mirror and see this big gapping hole in the headliner. WTF!!! I get out and ask the guy what happened here? At first they tried to tell me that was how it was when the car was dropped off. That was BS and I told them so. Suddenly they remembered that they needed one for another car, and the part was not in stock. Since my car was laid-up for a while, they just took the
Homelink
switch for the other car, then ordered a new one for me. Apparently the new switch arrived but it didn't get installed until I noticed it was missing. (Note: I was kinda suspicious that they just popped it out of someone else's car). While I watched and waited they quickly popped-in the replacement. I asked if there was any coding necessary and they said - no, its just some switches and
LEDs
. All the logic is in the controller/radio behind the bumper. True enough, it worked as expected when I got home.
No harm done but it was one of many slip-shod F-ups that I had with this dealer. I never again went back for anything other than warranty work.
OK, I know the dealers are unscrupulous in many ways but your story takes the cake! First they don't tell you like you are not going to notice, then to add insult to injury, they said that is the way they found it! I would avoid these idiots at all costs. I had a dealership forget to order parts need for a repair, another time they dinged my door and other times told me reported malfunctions were normal!!!! Glad it all worked out for you and thanks for the info. In my case I found a good indy guy when my warranty expired. ( I am still shaking my head over your story!!!!!) lol
OK, found the switch for $65 which is the original OEM switch. Popped the switch out of the headliner, dealt with the connector lock that was hidden under the label on the switch body. Popped back in and all is well. !0 minutes and $65, Job complete. Dealer wanted $450. WTF , SMH!!!!!!!!
