Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Leading evidence: 'Check leaks' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check leaks' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Morning all,
Hoping for some help here before I end up having to sell a kidney for a new caliper..
After what was meant to be simply replacing front discs the hard line snapped. I’ve managed to remove the flare nut from both caliper and flexi line (absolute pita) but there a tiny peice at the end of the threads of the caliper still, is that part of the old pipe and needs to be removed? Or is that part of the caliper itself?
A rusted mess mate lol, I ended up asking a local garage to take the flare nut off the caliper side as I was doing more harm than good.
But what they removed came out as a single piece which is why I’m guessing/hoping that little bit is supposed to be in there still
Honestly such an annoying job! Had such a good start to the week, found a bargain set of hollow spokes with new tyres, ordered a nice new set of discs and pads for the front and then this happens
I just usually manoeuvre the caliper out the way (not easy on hard lines) and support it out the way whilst then removing the disc. Double check for leaks after though.
Yeah that’s what I did too, the hard line was just so badly corroded it seems. Never mind, I guess in hindsight I’m happier it happened here and not on a motorway
There is no sort of insert or anything in the caliper. What you should have is a conical seat. Looks OK to me, if that was the end of a pipe I would expect it to look a lot different. I'd try to clean up the hole and get a better look. Here is a caliper I photographed just for you.
