I am having the same problem and am very glad I found this post on this forum, my problem is also only happening after I wash my car and then park it and don't drive it for a week or more.
Leading evidence: 'also only happening' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'also only happening' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check brake shoe springs' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Last winter I replaced both cables and cable tubes to the wheels.

Then next time i parked it i did the same thing again yet i hadn't used the e brake.

Will start taking it for a bit of a drive after washing it in future and see if this fixes the problem (I thought that it was the emergency brake was sticking)

It took me months to figure this out - but it turned out that every weekend when i washed the car (i love my 911) it would happen.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I've noticed a couple of time lately that my parking brake sticks. The first time it really startled me as I tried to pull away. Had to give it some gas to break it loose.
Anyone else experience this and what was/is the fix?
I searched and found nothing...
Thanks!
Update, pads seem to be sticking (surface rust) to the rotors after a wash and no drive. I will monitor this and hope that's all it is.
Never had that problem. You might consider pulling off the wheel and hubs to check the brake shoe springs. It is a lot like the old drum brake setup inside the hubs with some springs to pull the shoes back from the hub.
Mine used to do that sometimes. Turns out I only had one working cable. It was this way when I bought the car. Last winter I replaced both cables and cable tubes to the wheels. Easy job, and the parts werent particularly expensive either.
i had one cable that had rusted and broken. The good cable was also corroded and tight in the tube. Its possible that if the cables are still good, the tubes could be full of oxidation/dirt and binding on the cables. Shooting some grease or solvent in there might help but you have to be careful not to get it in the drums...
I had that happen a few times the first drive after washing the car if I didn't take it out for a "blow dry" drive before tucking it away in the garage. Now I always take it for a good spin after washing it; that seems to have done the trick.
Just a thought. I have had my 04 C4S for only 6 months. Weekend driver only. When i first got it i noticed that when i parked it in the garage and then took it out the following weekend the car was briefly "stuck" in place. As i let out the clutch, the car would pop/snap like the e brake was stuck for a brief moment. It was very noticeable. I figured the same as you that it was a e brake issue and i wouldn't use it again until i had time to check it out. Then next time i parked it i did the same thing again yet i hadn't used the e brake. It took me months to figure this out - but it turned out that every weekend when i washed the car (i love my 911) it would happen. Took a few times to realize that if i drove the car for a few miles after the wash it wouldn't happen. I finally jacked it up one weekend to find the front brakes locked up. What was happening was the rotors and pads were "drip drying" and if i didn't drive it after i washed it - it would literally rust the pad to the rotor. Then when i went to back out of the garage the following weekend it was stuck momentarily. I now make sure i drive it a few miles after washing and the problem dosen't happen anymore. But the few times i get lazy, its a guarantee it is be stuck the next weekend.
May not be your issue. But darn sure is mine.

I almost mentioned that both times had been after washing the car the evening before. Thanks for chiming in!
I'll see if I can recreate this before throwing any parts at it (I don't have $ to waste) all though at 18 years new parts are going to be needed somewhere soon.
In your first post you specifically said your e or parking brake was sticking - hence my post! Yes, the pads sit very close to the rotors, so if you wash the car and dont drive it afterward or blow the rotors/pads dry, they can rust in place.
Glad it was a quick find for you. It drove me nuts thinking i had a possible bigger issue that i was being too lazy to inspect. I was letting every bad thing run thru my mind. Every time i was thinking, could it be my front differential? Could it be my trans? I bet it was 2 or 3 months before i figured it out.
+1
This is the correct assessment....happens all the time with high performance braking systems....even happens with my cars with ceramic brakes and for different brands of cars as well. Only way to solve is drive the cars to dry after wash.
