Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I do find I need to adjust the sound for virtually every CD I put in though for some reason.

On PCM is a bit different, whereas you can adjust the Surround Settings on a scale of 0-9 or just turn it off.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just interested to hear from you all...
For all those that have the Bose Surround Sound package, do you listen to your music on Low, Medium, or High settings?
What setting do you think offers the best sound/do you prefer in the cabin?
Medium. I wanted High to be it (now it can be told: I go way back with surround sound in cars - I put a quadraphonic 8-track in my first car, a '72 Vega!) but it was just too indistinct. Medium works well for me, and I don't get enough of a surround sense with Low (or Off). I think I have the fader set at -5, and balance at 0. For XM, I like the bass at -2 and the treble at 0. Once I got the settings where I like them, I've really been enjoying this stereo.
My thoughts about the factory CS Dolby surround sound ....it needs to evolve into a much more powerful system with factory i-pod interface, better speakers
and
the ability to play SACD's with true multi channel digital music. Have you ever listened to a SACD music disc on a reasonable home theater system? Wheather you enjoy Diana Krall, Pink Floyd or The Eagles, it will "wow" you. There is musical information that becomes very appearant that is simply lost in a two channel mix. That's my CS wish list for the next generation of CS music systems.

It depends on what I'm listening to, but most of the time I have surround on. The radio gets a little funky depending on the song, but when listening to a high quality CD I have Bose on High.
I also like the sound when a window is slightly down.
I turned the surround off. It seemed to me like the volume and movement of the sound around the cabin varied almost randomly, almost as annoying to me as those speed-sensitive volume controllers. I prefer to adjust the volume for myself. Being kind of old and deaf (but still loving rock music), I usually have the radio on about volume 13-14 around town, and 17-18 on the highway. I think the Bose is serviceable, although the lack of Ipod integration so far is inexcusable. For an old guy, the Ipod is one technology I have truly embraced, and my last three cars prior to the Cayman have all had Dension IceLinks. CD changers are so last year when you can carry your entire music collection around on a pocket sized device.
I had the surround on mid for a couple of months, then switched it off completely and for me it transformed the sound. I was a little dissapointed with the mid range sounds with surround on but off I find it much more acceptable. Way to much emphasis on bass with surround on I thought as well, like it was gonna rattle the glass out - maybe I'm getting old!
Although with surround off I find the bass is more manageable even at higher levels. I seemed to have the bass at -2, -1, 0 or +1 with mid surround on and on the raidio especially even at -2 it was way out of proportion with the rest of the sound, with surround of I'm good upto +5 or +6 on most cd's or radio...

On PCM is a bit different, whereas you can adjust the Surround Settings on a scale of 0-9 or just turn it off. I believe is the last option at the bottom of the screen under Audio settings.
Did any of you receive an owners manual for the Bose Radio System.
The main owners manual for the Cayman does not include any comments on the Bose System which makes me believe it has its own manual.
Medium surround with fader just off center to the right. For those who didn't get a separate manual, should go back to the dealer and request one. It is part of the whole package and should have it with your owners manual.
go to Sound then press SET.
i have it entirely turned off, because some songs on the radion start sounding really strange (like the singer was under water...) with the surround on.
how come?
