Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Everything went well, I got the radio out and installed the ISO connectors that come with the Parrot kit.

Suggestion

However, the easiest and safest thing to do is run the wire from your parrot kit into your fuse box by running it along the wires that connect under steering lighting, and then do a fuse tap on the telephone control mod fuse that is switched.

Suggestion

If the parrot supports using another wire for the switched lead and one for dedicated power, you can tap the (very, very thin) red\black remote lead wire from the headunit to the ASK amplifier, unless you have Bose, then you can't.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

4 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1Original post

I have just done a trial fit of a Parrot 3100 into my CDR24 equipped Cayman. Everything went well, I got the radio out and installed the ISO connectors that come with the Parrot kit. Problem is that the ISO connectors on the CDR24 dont have switched 12v available. Is there a source of switched 12v in/around the radio area..? This is a UK, RHD drive car if it makes any difference. cheers simon

POST 2Original post

More info on this in the how to install a radar detector article in the electronics articles section. - Suneet

POST 3Original post

I have had another go at fitting my Parrot (!), where is the red/black wire you mention..? I have the stock CDR24 and no Bose or anything. Does the red/black wire come from the radio unit or somewhere else...I can't see it - must be going mad. cheers simon

POST 4Original post

Very thin red\black, comes out of black, plug A, pin A2 from the headunit and goes to the ASK amplifier. Thinnest wire back there. - Suneet
