Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

The US produces oil with a much lighter footprint than anyone else because we're better at it and it doesn't have to travel half way around the world to get here on vessels that run on fossil fuels.
Leading evidence: 'Run on fossil fuels' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Run on fossil fuels' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

I bought Beru ignition coils and plugs off FCP Euro. To my surprise when I opened the box the coils had "Made in China" on each of the six boxes and the plugs were made in France. OK on the plugs but China for the coils? A bit disappointing. Beru website says, "
The main production facilities for BERU

glow plugs and ignition coils are located in
Ludwigsburg, Germany
."
Uh huh.
Interesting. I've bought coils for both the 996 and the Cayenne in the last year and the boxes say Made in Germany. Sounds like I bought them just in time.
There's some OEM Porsche parts made in the PRC right now. It really doesn't matter as long as:
1) its not a knock-off
2) its made by a brand that won't throw away its reputation and sell something of poor quality
Plenty of quality stuff comes out of China right now, even Bosch makes a lot of their very expensive automotive electronic stuff in China today. Its still generally of the same quality. I don't know anything about Beru, but if they made high-quality stuff before I doubt they would have anything made to a less acceptable standard overseas and continued to sell it, unless the company has sold/restructured or something.
Similar recent experience. I bought 4 new ATE brake rotors, a well regarded German OE and aftermarket brake mfg, from Rock Auto, they were made in China.
Ya, mit all der fingerpoken un mitten grabben by der korrect peoples, perhaps der fatherland has decided to
shovel
outsourcen der products to baskin in der glory of becoming der greener for der vorld.
How does that even make sense? The Chinese are not going to produce anything more efficiently especially more efficiently than the Germans. It's like us buying our oil from the OPEC countries thinking we're being more greener in doing so. The US produces oil with a much lighter footprint than anyone else because we're better at it and it doesn't have to travel half way around the world to get here on vessels that run on fossil fuels. Or were you being sarcastic? It's hard to tell in written form sometimes.
As others alluded to, yes, Amazon. Specifically here:

And if you could go ahead and make sure your parking pass is up to date, that would be great.
Not yet Greymda. If it is more complicated (to me) than an oil change or brake pad replacement I have my buddy who is a Master Guild Certified Audi Technician and a Gold Certified Porsche Technician do the work for a fraction of what it would cost me at the dealer and he just had a baby a week ago so I'm not going to bug him about it just yet. I'll post again in a few weeks and let everybody know if I do. The problem is that I really couldn't find these anywhere else besides FCP Euro so unless you have better luck than me in your search, you're pretty much stuck with buying the Made In China Beru's if you need new coils right now.
i see. i am in Europe and ordered a pack for my 955 CTT and ive got the same white box with made in china and different looking coils that ive been receiving previously for the same part number.
i even emailed BorgWarner to chime in but no response yet.
