I had mine replaced while it was in for other work a few years ago, but it looks the same as yours and turned up at the lower edges now.

Really easy job, use a bit of Silcon spray to help locate, it’s a push fit, I got the seal from my OPC it was cheaper than Design 911

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

13 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

The lower corners of the seal around my rear window have upturned. Can any one tell me if the seal is a push in fitment around the window or is it a window out job to replace? a part number would be handy too please if it’s to hand to save me searching Thanks

POST 2Original post

This from Design 911 or Porsche OPC https://www.design911shop.com/porsche/996-c4s-3-6l-09-01-2005/rubber-seals-weather-strips-rear-screen/ Aparently a fairly easy job, no need to remove glass.

Thanks buddy, ordered via d911 as I had a few other bits in. My basket with them

POST 4Original post

I would cancel that straight away as its for a cab hardtop and not your coupe, it is also £170 from OPC not over £200 not that that matters! The correct seal you want is 996 545 545 02 and is £57 from OPC

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

ah bummer I ordered 996 545 552 104

POST 8Original post

@Damo996 I had mine replaced while it was in for other work a few years ago, but it looks the same as yours and turned up at the lower edges now. So I'd be interested to hear how you get on with fitting before I decide whether to remove and try refitting mine or order a replacement.

POST 9Original post

I’m also keen to see how this goes, mine is terrible. Any tips/photos would be great.

POST 10Original post

Did you find the right part on D911? I need one but the only one I can see is the orginal linked product.

POST 11Original post

Really easy job, use a bit of Silcon spray to help locate, it’s a push fit, I got the seal from my OPC it was cheaper than Design 911

POST 12 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I ordered from hull opc, my car is back at slidefab to have the last of the rust cut out. I have the part now but will need to wait till June once I have it back to fit. it.

POST 13Original post

I’ve just ordered one, popped into the body shop to check on my car and the trim seems easy to remove and refit too. OPC charge about £70 (inc VAT) Also managed to get a couple of other bits of exterior trim. It’s all much cheaper than D911.
