I assume the issue is temperature related (wheels/tyres were quite warm after each session).
Leading evidence: 'temperature related (wheels/tyres were quite warm' (1 discussions report identifying this cause; no attributable repair resolution). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'temperature related (wheels/tyres were quite warm' (1 discussions; 1 report identifying it and 0 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Check wheel nuts' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I cleaned all the holes out with a drill and use a wire cup brush to clean the surfaces and did a bedding in run (8 stops from 70-20mph then cool).

check the wheel nuts for the correct tightness or could the wheels are out of balance,

Suggestion
The discs were a bit rusty from cleaning and garaging, but would clean with light braking.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hello, Im looking for some advice, I have a 2003 996 Turbo Tip, which I took it to Knockhill track yesterday.
I did 3 sessions each about 4 laps plus a cool down lap with no issues (it’s a short track with two heavy braking sections) then the following sessions I started to get judder/vibration through the steering wheel after the 2/3 laps. The brakes were working fine, no fade or loss of power, or excess peddle movement. No judder/vibration through the peddle. The car was left for 15mins to cool down and back out, 2nd lap and vibration again, subsequent sessions the vibration/judder seemed to be getting worse.
Back on the road and no issues at all. I assume the issue is temperature related (wheels/tyres were quite warm after each session). Is the problem with the discs ? Or tyres ? If it was discs I would expect to experience the problem all the time, and if it was wheel balancing then again I would have expected this to be an issue all the time.
Any ideas ?
I’m not sure what make of brake pads I have fitted, but changing pads sounds better than changing discs/tyres.
What pads are recommended for fast road and very occasional track use.
I don’t have an answer, just an anecdote of similar behaviour with my 996.
Took it to a trackday back in November, having only covered approx 300 road miles under my ownership, had the same vibration you describe except from the first session and subsequent sessions after 3 or so laps.
I’ve also never smelt brakes like that before, an unusual hot smell, not the typical pad smell. It got slightly better later in the afternoon, but I wasn’t pushing as hard now i was aware of the issue.
I have no idea of the brake manufacturer but Discs have no lip, pads look 75% or more new. The discs were a bit rusty from cleaning and garaging, but would clean with light braking. The holes looked a bit clogged with dust/rust.
I cleaned all the holes out with a drill and use a wire cup brush to clean the surfaces and did a bedding in run (8 stops from 70-20mph then cool).
Brakes seemed better and i had no plans for another trackday to find out if it had worked, car then sorned over winter.
Took it for a service at my indy in the spring, and one thing he noted was the discs were on the wrong sides!!
I’ve swapped them round for now, but I can’t wait to get some new hardware fitted and hopefully get that doubt from the back of my mind.
(I quite like the look of slotted sebro discs, i hate the drilled holes and subsequent “vinyl record” look to the inside faces of the discs when they wear)

i would have said the Pagid Street+ but that's not available for the fronts, therefore you have options from EPC and PFC
note, Textar made the pads for Porsche
If you're current pass are all good again on the road I'd stick with them.
If you plan on going back to the track I'd recommend a second set of pads for track days. On my E46 I would run ATE (OEM) pads day to day and switch to mintex 1155 for track days. The mintex were great on track but would start to squeal after a couple of days of light braking so not recommended as an all round option.
I’ve just looking at the Brembo HP2000 pads which are available for both the front and rear, unlike the the Pagit Street+ and should be similar in performance to the Padit.
ndg, thanks for your suggestion, I’ll also look a dedicated set of pads just for track use.
