Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Looking a converting my non PSE 996C4S to a Top gear PSE and installing an original PSE switch on the dash. I've emailed Top Gear asking if their remote fob operated PSE can be converted to the original dash switch they have pointed me to here saying it has been done. I've scrolled the posts, but can't find anything. Can anyone help?

POST 2Original post

You can retro fit the stock pse wiring and control electric relay and use the top gear solenoid to control rather than the fob. That’s what I did on mine.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Any pointers of what I need to get on the wiring side of things and that relay?

This might be the post Top Gear were referring to: https://911uk.com/threads/retrofitting-pse-switch.88936/

I used this thread here to get my head around the install https://911uk.com/threads/fitting-pse-on-a-996-1-coupe.91368/ I did not fit the tank etc so basically just did steps 1 and 3.

that's for a 997 so not applicable for a 996

POST 7Original post

The fobs are a single push to activate where as the switches are a constant on (or off). However, its possible to do this and its something I'd like to explore too. IIRC there's a thread on Rennlist on how to do it but I can't find it right now.

This is a source reference. Confirm exact model applicability in the original material.
