People have been using Parrots with system audio on CDR23's in Cayenne's with MOST for a long time; the CDR23 and 24 are supposed to be identical but the pins are switched around.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

i just had a parrot bluetooth installed on my cayman and they put in a speaker at the passenger side foot rest. I thought i was going to have it come out of my bose center speaker on top. does anyone know if this is possible? also i was under the assumption that the radio volume would go down when a call came in, so far it does not. Im beginning to think that they installed this incorrectly but it is difficult to find vendors who have installed audio equipment on the new cayman.

POST 2Original post

it sounds like your audio guy doesn't know how to work with a MOST system as most don't due to the complicated setup. Everything in a porsche is fibre optic, very hard to work with. They should be able to get the volume of the stereo to mute with a simple relay. Using the cars speakers is much harder.

POST 3Original post

Craig how would a relay be used to to mute system volume on the headunit? I know that pin A3 (this is pin 3 on the black plug) on the PCM or on the CDR24 is where it looks for a telephone mute signal. On Cayennes people have been able to harness this directly with the output from the Parrot, so you might want to give it a try. People have been using Parrots with system audio on CDR23's in Cayenne's with MOST for a long time; the CDR23 and 24 are supposed to be identical but the pins are switched around. There are two places on cdr24 where you can introduce telephone signals. Plug C7 is (I believe) the line-level input and C12 is called the telephone ground. There is then another socket which has speaker level inputs, there is no letter assigned to the plug, on the wiring diagram it's called the "hands free noise entry," and has two speaker level inputs for phone and two for a mic. Again, these are all copper inputs and not fiber optic, the only issue is I don't know which ones are enabled or disabled on the headunits. But it would be easy for an audio installer to find out. It can also be done just as easily with an FM modulator, since you would press one button (preset) on your headunit and music would mute and you'd have your telephone audio. But you might not get all the fidelity or sound quality of the persons voice - Suneet

POST 4Original post

had my color 3200ls installed in my BOSE and sound comes out of center speaker loud and clear and mutes w/o need for a separate speaker, thats what PARROT help line suggested at first, but I guess thay have no clue. Took about an hour to figure out mute and then the rest is history. It works and well. COCO

POST 5Original post

Coco, That is awesome! Do you think we can get any tips from your installers on if they used the line level phone input or speaker level? Any details on what they did would help, as I will probably undertake the project on my own and do a write up. Thanks, Suneet
