I've got a bit of surface corrosion on the inside of the wheel arches on my 2003 Targa, as well as a bit on the underside of the body. Some pics here (yes I did win the car at auction in the end!): 996 buying advice required - underside damage/corrosion? After a couple of other threads on here looking at cars that didn't quite work out (for the best I think!), I'm looking at a 2003 Targa at the moment (https://carsonline.bonhams.com/en/listings/porsche/911-996-targa/e4c31f16-f5e5-4b2c-995b-a282f8b39d0c) I've seen the car in person and it looks... 911uk.com The car is arctic silver, however the underside is obviously a different colour. I've treated the corrosion now, but need to try and match up the paint. Any idea what kind of colour is available/closest match? Thank you!

It's a dark grey/black rubberised coating, not paint. I went around the underside of mine with underseal after cleaning up and treating any little patches which were showing early signs of corrosion. I also replaced a few broken undertray and inner wheel arch studs with ones with a large doyley type plate at one end, which could be bonded to the cleaned surface before coating.

if you look on My911 YouTube channel Joel did the underside of his car recoated using the correct under seal product.. Most of his current video show the finish and colour very clearly.. He did mention in a video when it was done what the product is called.. But its probably easer to contact him on YouTube to ask the question.. I think his instagram is the same name if you wish to try him there
