Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1Original post

I need to replace the hazard switch on my 987 following battery replacement. How is the switch removed from the dash panel?

POST 2Original post

You have to remove the radio first. do a search, there's sure to be instructions somewhere

POST 3Original post

When you get the replacement it will be pretty obvious. I think it might be able to be done without removing the radio, or not.

POST 4Original post

I was going to say what Don did. Sometimes on either of my vehicles the clues of disassembly are evident by examining the replacement part, not always, but frequently.

POST 5Original post

Did the leg work for you. Your going to have to remove one of the vents beside it and then you fish it out through that open vent. Here is the thread with the shop manual pictures in it about 4 or 5 posts down the thread. https://www.planet-9.com/threads/987-hazard-switch-relocation.254263/

POST 6Original post

Thanks so much to everyone I was hoping you could just pull it out but you can't.... Seems like the most popular thing is to remove one of the side vents which has its own associated dangers (like breaking the louvers).

POST 7Original post

Saw that, really appreciate it. I had pulled the dash accent ring out. The push button doesn't seem to be real loose in there now. Does it just twist and pull back from the dash? (I should probably just take the vent out now but I thought I'd save wrecking that for a little later... ;-)
