Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

I felt the system worked accordingly prior, so I used the old plugs / wires.
Leading evidence: 'Use plugs / wires' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check cant hurt' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Went back in last night to check the harnesses which all seemed in great shape.

I check high wear items often so I would be okay with some sort of bypass as well.

Yes, I will have to give that a go sometime later this week on checking those connections.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Couple months back my brake light came on, then would go off and on sporadically. I already knew prior to that I was going to change the brakes come spring. After seeing this I ordered parts from Pelican to change the brake pads, rotors, sensors, ect.. Yesterday, I decided to tackle the job and everything seemed to go pretty smooth. However, after finishing up and starting the car the brake warning light was still on. Today, I went out and rechecked the connections on all four corners. Everything seemed to be good to go. Is there a reset or something im missing? I did drive the car as well and it seemed fine. I check high wear items often so I would be okay with some sort of bypass as well.
Take your old sensors and cut the sensor part off and solder the wires together to form a closed loop. Plug them all in and see if your light goes out. I believe (and I’m no expert) that the only other sensor connected to that light is at the master cylinder for fluid level.
Warning light needs to be reset with a Durametric or Any inexpensive Porsche diagnostic tool. There are several out there. Dealer will probably charge you more than the cost of the tool and it is nice to have! icarsoft is a common one. I use it to reset and read codes on my 996 turbo and Macan. Cost you $75-150 depending on where you get it. Amazon ebay used ones are all around and much cheaper than a Durametric!
Thank you both!
looks like theres a couple options. May try using a tool to reset because the sensors are in. If for whatever reason that doesnt work just bypass.
As far as I know neither the brake warning light or the brake wear light need to be reset with a scanner. I think there are 2 separate lights, at least on Mk2's there are two separate lights. If the plain old brake warning light is on it means handbrake engaged, or brake fluid low.
there is no such thing as brake light reset.
you might have an issue with the sensor on the master cylinder as mentioned by JTT, or one of the ABS sensor harnesses is gone bad and developed cracks.
this is a common issue and in fact om in the process of replacing mine on all 4 corners.
inspect yours visually for any crarckes.

Yes, I will have to give that a go sometime later this week on checking those connections. They all seemed fine but maybe Im missing something. A double check cant hurt. Just seemed so easy as plug and play with swapping them.
the diagnostic tool did throw me a bit because the sensor would go off and on. Meaning it was only triggered when it touched. It was indeed making contact with the front passenger side. Still some meat on the pads but enough to just start making contact with the sensor.
This is a .1, so I have the brake wear light on, brake fluid is separate.
Went back in last night to check the harnesses which all seemed in great shape. I ruled that out and started my way on to trying the bypass. I felt the system worked accordingly prior, so I used the old plugs / wires. My thinking was maybe something was off in the new ones? I cut them down to about 2 inches, soldered and wrapped. Threw all four back in the their corners and .... Good to go! Light gone! Its a nice little feature having a sensor but not worth the headache for me to dive deep on. Also its something easily reversible, if needed. Thanks for the assistance !!
