Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Anyone else had this and know how to change the bulb, guessing it's still a dashboard binnacle off job but maybe there's access from underneath?

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

5 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

  • 911uk: 1 discussions

0 evidence records excluded for query context · 0 excluded by outcome qualification · 0 adjusted by outcome qualification.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Generation: 20261026T172408Z · outcome-qualification-6. Deterministic extraction; no AI model inference. How we use sources

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi all, the backlight in my central LCD 'pod' has gone so is in darkness even though the LCD is still working (can see speed etc if in direct sunlight). Anyone else had this? Assume it's a just a bulb that's gone, wondered if it was an easy fix? Cheers, Chris

POST 2 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Bump! Have spoken to OPC who have confirmed that it's not covered by warranty. Anyone else had this and know how to change the bulb, guessing it's still a dashboard binnacle off job but maybe there's access from underneath? Off to Amazon to look for a 996 Haynes manual... Chris

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks Chris, haven't been on Renn Tech before, it's a good site. Sid, car is '99 C2 with trip computer if that makes any difference. Cheers, Chris
