This is not a probability of success.

The whole accutuator seems to be loose, I have found detail instruction on Renntech on how to get to it, wheel off, liner off, disconnect evap cannister etc - waiting for decent weather and will give it ago seems it may just be loose screws that hold the accutator in place.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Hi, as I walked away from my car this evening - locking it - the thunk/click as the central locking engaged didn't sound right! On investigation I can see the fuel filler flap isn't being locked. I can see a pin comes out to lock the flap, my pin shoots out but not far enough to engage with the plastic recess on the flap. Anyone had the same? Is it easy to fix? Cheers

POST 2Original post

it will need a new lock solenoid .remove the wheel and the arch liner to access it

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Would the Fuel filler lock actuator (Solinod) be covered under the Porsche warranty?

POST 4Original post

I doubt it. A solenoid is a ferrous rod, driven in suspension by an electo magnet. To the insurance company, that will be an electrical part and a wear and tear item. It's one of those parts which often fail on your boiler.

POST 5Original post

Hi Vlad - I have same problem on mine too. I am just going to live with it I think. ~ Maxie

POST 6Original post

It might be simpler than that Hi. I had the same problem. Looked like the pin had been driven in to the lock position with no where to go so whatever drives it lost it's grip on it. Have you tried pulling the pin further out? Try it (with reasonable but not hulk-like force). Mine works now.
