Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Out of nowhere infront of me a car with very poor rear lights in the slow lane was coming up, realised that they were travelling at 30mph, checked the mirror, car closing in from behind....split second call needed

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

After having the inner tie rod episode behind me, I took the car for its first proper drive. The past two weeks have been a faultless 4000 mile journey of getting to know the car (previous 3 months only covered 700 miles). From driving the car across Germany in heavy rain on the autobahn with complete confidence in the machine, to tackling the winding coastal roads of Croatia I now understand what all the fuss is about. Even the boring tiptronic made sense, where before I seemed to have a delay on shifting up and down, I now seem to get the change in shifts spot on. The only problem now is that here in the UK I can't appreciate the car or use her as I did these past two weeks, roof down constantly, people waving as you drive by, the engine roaring through 5km tunnels, being on the giving end to our German friends on the motorway to move out of the way..... Oh well....roll on next summer.

POST 2Original post

Travel overseas in cars makes you realise just how over-regulated, crowded and depressing much road driving is in the UK, esp in the south east. I think much of it comes from the fact that 911s etc are quite commonplace- I see at least one a day (not including mine!) and more often than not at least one ferrari, bentley and AM. Its easy to take them for granted until you go somewhere where there aren't so many about.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I was surprised at the lack of 911's on the autobahn. Saw only one which was a 997, a few Cayenes, no boxters though. Croatia spotted one white 997 C4S with black wheels, looked the business. On my train from Calais there were three Boxters, at the car park in Calais a 996 GT3 boarded the train before mine, a very dark grey/purple colour, awesome sound of the engine. All the porkers UK plates at Calais. As for the restrictions, it is overkill in the UK now. Im not advocating speeding and havent a single point on my license. But late last night driving back on a very sparse M25 in the rain, cruising at 70 mph. Out of nowhere infront of me a car with very poor rear lights in the slow lane was coming up, realised that they were travelling at 30mph, checked the mirror, car closing in from behind....split second call needed a) do I break or b)drop gear and accelerate, chose b) as a reaction fearing I would rear end the Micra and the car being capable of accelerating quickly. As soon as the decision was made...FLASH, camera popped as I got to 81 mph. Oh well, atleast I avoided an accident but await the letter with a bit of resentment to the establishment.

POST 4Original post

Unlucky Dejan, Micra drivers say no more, bloody muppets.

POST 5Original post

you might get away with it. I heard that the camera's only take the images from the fast lane...not sure if it's true, but I guess you'll find out in 2 weeks time.

POST 6Original post

It's very hit or miss. They have a lot of Gatsos and not that many cameras so the boxes flash but with luck there won't be a camera in it. If you buy an Origin B2 or Pogo GPS detecter, they will tell you which ones are live and which aren't.

POST 7Original post

Welcome back Dejan!! Hope you get away with the flash, my wife just picked up 3 points for 92 in a 70
