Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Would this vary on the job (I recall a post on how to change brake pads/disc where design911 parts were used and just generally curious)
Leading evidence: 'Replace brake pads/disc where design911 parts were' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace brake pads/disc where design911 parts were' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Just curious about what you think about using original OPC parts or 3rd party (like design911 or any other?)

Likewise,
- If buying a car, would you guys frown if bills show that the parts are not from OPC?
Finally...
Apart from design911, any other parts supplier that would be reccommended?
Cheers
Original OPC parts ALL the time
what you have to realise, that very few 3rd parties can discount Porsche oem parts, unless they off like for like
3rd parties for after market asseccories is fine but for bits for your car it's a visit to the OPC
any particular parts ?
unfortunately not yet
(still car hunting)
but looking around and wondered if it was a big deal if you saw bills with non-opc parts on a potential 911?
Would it depend on the part itself? i.e im not sure how many of you guys pick up wipers from opc?
In my mind I wouldn't be happy parting with 30 or 40k if a car had 3rd party parts, basically because its a sign that the previous owner was skimping. You have to ask yourself what else have they economised on?
Its an added risk you are taking on if you do take a vehicle not with original parts as are they engineered to the same degree that Porsche parts are. OK maybe wiper blades I could overlook.
Hi,
Personally would go OPC for parts. However there are posts here illustrating that people do buy discs, pads, clutches, fly wheel, suspension upgrades and other consumables from 3rd party. Interesting topic.
Alan
I bought a set of non Porsche discs for my 4S, but they were made by Sebro, who make the discs for porsche. Saved £££, and the quality seems identical. I'm happy to be guided by my trusted specialist who says where to go OE and where to go elsewhere.
I don't think it necessarily indicates an owner who is skimping- just someone who wants value for money without compromising on quality.
Same reason why I don't think a non OPC history necessarily means inferior servicing.
there are a lot of generic non-OPC parts which are fine for consumable elements, like pads, discs, exhausts, tyres, suspension, etc etc
but component parts unique to your 911 need to be Official Parts

hold on, they aint OEM parts and they cost more ! gggggrrrrr 8)
As you say Robert, Sebro make the discs for Porsche and Textar make the pads. They both sell them through their retailer network and the only difference is that they don't have the porsche part number
printed
on them
