Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

but I also had a new front offside rad replaced recently when it decided to spring a big leak!

Suggestion
My 996 has yellow coolant, but it does sound like a radiator to me - had one replaced on mine by OPC just over a year ago, but don't remember it costing that much?
Leading evidence: 'Replace recently' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, the most frequently mentioned possible cause is 'rad, seems' (1 discussions; 0 report identifying it and 1 suggest it). The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace on mine by opc just over a year ago' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.

I thought all 996s used the G12 (pink/purple) long-life/organic coolant...as opposed to the "old" G11 (blue/green).

Suspected cause
Most probably the rad, seems to be a common problem, I had this happen to my 996, had both rads replaced.

These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi guys,
I have just walked past the P&J in the garagre an noticed a small puddle of green liquid just in front of the passenger side front wheel.
My immediate suspicion was of a possible coolant leak because of the green coloured but I'm confused as to it's location and the fact that there isn't that much of it.
Could it be a possible radiator leak or split hose?
I've tried calling the OPC but as usual I am waiting for them to call be back (or not, depending on how they feel)
Any help or advice gratefully received.
I had considered screenwash, but there didn't seem to be enough of it.
I had grope around and couldn't feel anything loose or wet
I've left 2 messages for Nigel at East London OPC and shock horror still no reply. I've got to go to St.Ives this weekend so I'm hoping it's not going to be anything too serious.
I've just been back down to the garage and had a clear out of the air intakes. I managed to pull out a ***** load of leaves and crap, most of which was damp...
So I'm now assuming this is a radiator problem, hopefully just a hose and not the whole shebang.
Now I'm am preparing myself for the "we won't bother returning your calls, just leave you wallet at the door OPC" to screw me....
Any ideas how much I'm in for?
After leaving several messages to East London OPC the price for a radiator including 3hours fitting is a £645.00
Does this sound like a rip-off or the going rate?
My '98 996 has pink coolant... but I also had a new front offside rad replaced recently when it decided to spring a big leak! Cost me around £425 at Northways so £650 is prob about right for an OPC (although it also confirms why I don't use them!).

I think it was around £500-£550 as I had a 111 point check and a couple of other minor jobs done at the same time and the total bill was about £700 IIRC.

What is this yellow stuff? :?
