Evening all, I am considering straight Piping the 987 Cayman S , but I would like to know it anyone has any cons to this small mod. I’m more concerned about devaluing the car as it’s a low mileage for its year. Should I just keep it stock?

If you do it - keep the piping you take off. After about 2 weeks of reving it going under bridges, you'll find the noise intolerable in the cabin and you'll be reinstalling the original system. That's based on a lot of threads here.. like: 981 - Replacing Old Straight Pipe to Stock Porsche Exhaust

One final note here. My 987.2 base came with straight pipes. UGH. Drone and I could hear the car a block away. Literally aggravated my hearing problems. Sold off my straight pipes to someone else, and found an OEM set inexpensively. If you want more growl, consider Carnewal (much better sound but no performance gain) mod to your OEM set. You're in the UK -- so you can easily have it shipped to Belgium I think...too cost prohibitive to/from shipping to the west coast. Good call.

I was looking at small improvements to keep the car at the higher end of the price scale due to its low mileage etc for a 2008.

Yeah, I walked away from buying one that was straight piped. There’s lot of great exhausts out there from Soul, Borla, AWE, Fabspeed. I have Fabspeed headers & cats and an AWE cat back and I wear concert earplugs on longer road trips. 😂
