Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

Is there a trick? Do you have to have the top down to pull off the visor anchor? I have the dash quite dismantled and I cant quite pull it out of position without removing that trim. But I cant really easily put the top down because I have the whole dash stripped out.

POST 2Original post

99.9% you just need to yank harder than you want to. I know that is the opposite of everything else on a Porsche, but I do think that is the case here. Worst comes to worst, I have some A-pillar trim I could sell you cheap.

POST 3Original post

if the battery is hooked up, have you tried operating the top with the door key? should be able to operate as long as rear engine lid is shut.

POST 4Original post

Im pretty sure I removed mine with the top up. Dont think thats an issue. You do have to remove the sun visor. https://www.renntech.org/topic/10589-removing-a-pillar/

POST 5 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have the battery disconnected because Ive pulled the airbags. I think Im going to reconnect it and deal with any airbag codes that might get thrown. Ive got a durametric so I think I can clear any airbag codes that pop.

POST 6Original post

The service manual doesn't say anything about removing the A-pillar trim to get the dash out. It does say for the Cab A-pillar trim, step 1. remove the cover for the top corner fitting (2 screws) step 2. Pull the trim inward toward the center of the car, there are 2 spring clips step 3. pull trim upwards out of the dash. No mention if top is up or down for this.

POST 7 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Definitely had to lower the top to get the visors out, which allowed me to get the a pillar trim out and definitely needed the trim out to remove the dash.
