Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

7 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

0 acknowledgements have no verified action link; they do not establish a repair result.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Anyone have any suggestions as to the best lube to use on a squeaking, sticking window? Doesn't have quite the image I'm after when you drop the roof and the squeak can be heard across the carpark

POST 2Original post

I use good glass cleaner and an MF to make sure the glass is squeaky clean. Then some of the Zymol rubber restorer stuff. Nice smooth windows on all of our vehicles now.

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Had some of the Autoglym Vinyl and Rubbercare but it hasn't really done the trick. I was wondering if a bit of Vaseline or similar on the runners might work, but could get a bit messy. BTW whats an MF?

POST 4Original post

Microfibre - best thing for waxing and polishing cars. Different ones for different things (useful to get different colours too).

POST 6Original post

I think you will find that not much will fix it except a new regulator. They often squeek (worse in hot weather) and one day you will hear a crack as the window regulator finally gives way! Hey presto-you have to pull it up by hand....new regulator-not covered by OPC warranty cost me £116 fitted.

POST 7Original post

I have the same problem with my C4 and I too was wondering whether you could lubricate it without taking the door to pieces. Let me know how you get on.
