Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

If I were going to make any changes I'll wait until I can obtain, and listen to, the OEM Porsche Sport Exhaust which is bound to come along at some point.
Leading evidence: 'Replace i'll wait until i can obtain, and listen' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Replace i'll wait until i can obtain, and listen' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

I just wish there was a way to enrich the sound we have without changing the quality.

Anyway, maybe that isthe reason the Boxster with the B&B lost power, not much testing other than fitment go into their exhausts, this I can't be sure of, but it could bea possibility.
These are separate views of the same evidence. Frequency alone does not establish a fix, and these counts must not be added together.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

The B&B site has some nice videos of their new cat-back system for the Cayman. I happened to see their ad in Excellence magazine a took a peek at their site to find that they had just released a Cayman model.

Not sure how much it costs though. Seems to sound pretty nice to me.
Some Boxster owners have claimed that the BB products actually reduce h.p. I have no knowledge but it would sure be nice to have some sort of proving ground for these things as products for the Cayman are introduced.
They sound amazing, actually. Although there is video of them running a dyno comparison, there's no chart or even a written description of any performance changes. Might give them a call, see what I can find out.
B&B make some of the deepest sounding systems but I'm not all that impressed with the sound, I think it looses a little of the 'Porsche' sound. I would like to hear more on the Tubi, and definitly the Miltek, who make quality systems. I'm not saying that B&B isn't necessarily quality, it just seems they slap a few mufflers together and that is about all that goes into their design. I know that makers like Tubi, Supersprint, Miltek, and a few others take their time and actually go through a long development stage of testing. There is a real art that goes into making a good free-flow exhaust that doesn't loose HP or have little or no resonance (drone). Anyway, maybe that isthe reason the Boxster with the B&B lost power, not much testing other than fitment go into their exhausts, this I can't be sure of, but it could bea possibility.

Of course it's all subjective, but I do think the Porsche 'sound' gets a little tinny, particularly at the top end. I cancelled an order for an Audi RS4 to get the Cayman, and I have absolutely no regrets, but I had been dreaming about that V8 sound at 8250 rpm and maybe that's what made me respond to the B&B note.
My plan is to wait perhaps 12 months or so before looking seriously at an engine upgrade of whatever kind, hoepfully to get any major issues with the current engine sorted under warranty. By then, there should be a lot of choices all well researched & tested.
Flyer,
Those are my thoughts as well. I would be a little reluctant to add this system if I thought it would lose too much of the Porsche signature sound. I just wish there was a way to enrich the sound we have without changing the quality.

I wasn't that impressed by the sound of the B&B on their "drive by", seems to lose the "ripping" characteristic of the flat 6 at high rpm. I guess I'm probably in the minority, but I actually think Porsche did a very good job with the stock Cayman exhaust note. If I were going to make any changes I'll wait until I can obtain, and listen to, the OEM Porsche Sport Exhaust which is bound to come along at some point.
<div>Yes Johnw3d, I agree sound is subjective. I like the V8 sound as well, but some cars like Porsche have that 'rip' and even a tinny sound that Dave C mentioned. I don't like the tinny sound but the 'ripping' is what I am interested and the B&B didn't do that. I have heard a 996TT with a Tubi and it definitly 'rips' but doesn't have that tinny sound. I don't know if the Tubi can do the same thing for the Cayman but hopefully we will hear more aftermarket exhausts as time goes by. I would like to hear what Supersprint come up with as well as what the Miltek will sound like. </div>

<div>It's not a Cayman but scroll down and check out what the 997 Carrera S sounds like with a Tubi, niiiice</div>

We have seen some traffic pour in from this forum topic during the last week, so I decided to stop by and say thanks (to motionless for posting) and everyone else for their interest / and comments about our Cayman system.
Prices are posted and so are the dyno numbers. (see link at the beginning of this topic)
<div>Welcome aboard Josh</div>
<div>IMHO, I like the looks of your exhaust and I kinda like the sound but it is missing that 'Porsche' rip. Now sound is definitly subjective and videos usually don't seem to do any exhaust justice. One of the biggest complaints about aftermarket exhaust is the resonance, does it drone at highway speeds? </div>
<div></div>
<div>Thanks. It is great when a manufacturer takes the time to visit a forum to discuss/answer questions about their product, kudos to you!</div>

We are working on generating high quality audio clips (w/o video) which might be a better representation of the sound. If you listen to the Interior Sound Comparison clip, without watching, you can tell the difference immediately. However while I was riding in the car it was less obvious - which may be a good/bad thing. Like anything, it comes down to your preference.
Personally I thought the system sounded great - because it wasnt overboard loud, but it was just enough to get me to look over at Billy and smile.
We have some video of the removal and installation - would this be interesting to anyone? What other things would you like to see from our new site? (Maybe I should start a new topic for these questions)
