Read evidence and context
Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

For those of you interested in front boot protection, I just installed a body colored Das Schild.
Leading evidence: 'Install body colored das schild' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Install body colored das schild' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.
Source reports, not a diagnosis or a success probability. Counts refer to discussions and can overlap.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

For those of you interested in front boot protection, I just installed a body colored Das Schild. This was very easy to install, about 5 minute. Straight black is not too expensive, but color doubles the price. I do use that front boot and do not want to risk hood bumps.

What was the cost and where did you get it? As useful as the Cayman storage is this seems like a really good addition to make. Not pretty but functional.
Paint to match added about $150 to the $199 base price, and a couple of weeks wait. The hoods of 997s, 987s and Caymans are the same. This weighs less then 5 lbs.
Good luck on the group buy.
Guys, feel free to talk to vendors on behalf of the website/group to see if they are interested in group buys, etc. If they are, then I'm happy to step in and talk to them about details, etc. but you don't have to wait on me to initiate something with a vendor, in fact most of the time these folks come through our members here although I have heard of and seen this product before and it seems nice to me. If they are interested in doing a group buy I might get in on one myself!
I enquired about this product a few weeks,I was interested but I lost 10 days worth of e-mails including the reply which included shiping price etc.I cannot remember exact prices but the rough deal was that five units ? could be sent in one package to the UK for the same postage as one.I would have ordered it ifenough others wereinterested. jhellow - how 'protective' is it?
This is on my wish list as well - I'll take it in black as all the other linings on my Guards Red are black.
I contacted them about a month ago and they will ship to Canada, in case my fellow Canucks are wondering...

Redeye:
I would call it moderately protective. It is fairly rigid, but only slightly more than an 1/8 inch thick. It mounts to the hood frame and seems to ride slighly below the thin hood metal so that there is a slight gap between the two. It will certainly protect against a close item that is bouncing up and down, but I would make sure that any rigid item sits below the boot level before I close the lid.
i just sent Das Schild an email requesting a group buy and consideration of a sponsorship for cayman club. I will let you guys know when i hear back form them and what they say.....keep your fingers crossed.
Got an email reply today!!!.....check it out.....
Christian,
We really appreciate your interest in our custom lid liners.
To answer your questions, yes and yes. We would be willing to offer a group special and become a sponsor.
I would like a little more detail regarding the number of members and Cayman owners registered to your site and will follow up with the site administrator for details.
Best Regards,
Jim McCarthy
