Suggestion

Some of valves and whatnot that might need to be replaced are a pain to get to, but if youre lucky maybe its just a vacuum hose that came off.

Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I've noticed 0 difference in drivability or noises or anything, the guy at the shop who read the code said I'll need to go directly to Porsche to source the injector(s?). I've read quite a few threads about people whose CELs from car washes went away after driving for a bit, I've probably driven it for about 2 hours after washing. Wondering if it's something I should have serviced ASAP or if it's not as big of a concern as it seems to be. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!

POST 2Original post

The sai pump is a blower that turns on when the engine is cold and injects air into the exhaust for emission reasons. It has nothing to do with fuel injectors. Its mounted rear left in the engjne bay, some say it sounds like a vacume when u start the car. I would just check the electrical connection and reset the light. A sai failure will not hurt the motor in any way, just cause a smog inspection failure.

POST 3Original post

This code is not a big deal, youre not going to damage the engine with the secondary air injection (SAI) system malfunctioning. Its job is to allow the cats to work more efficiently upon startup. With this and most other codes, the first thing is to clear it (any old code reader can do that) and if it was truly related to the car wash it wont reappear. If it does reappear then maybe you have an actual problem. Some of valves and whatnot that might need to be replaced are a pain to get to, but if youre lucky maybe its just a vacuum hose that came off. In any case, do a search for this code and get reading.
