I have fitted a Dension link to my 2003 TT with CDR23 using the fibre optics.

Was quite simple and works really well although you have to use the iPod for searching etc.

Like David says, you need to use the iPod if you want to access anything other than the first 5 albums which can be accessed directly via the headunit.

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

but not sure which one as I have yet to discover the world of ipod

Unfortunately no Spice Girls on mine.....yet
I've got a Dension hooked up to the CDR22 and it does the job. Like David says, you need to use the iPod if you want to access anything other than the first 5 albums which can be accessed directly via the headunit.
Hi all..
I recently looked for a solution as to using my iPod in my 996.
I bought one of these:
http://www.alpine-europe.com/index.php?id=cde-9881rrb&L=0
and replaced the Porsche head-unit with it. Connected up the cabling with the right adaptors, and hey presto..
The Alpine units come with a cable link for your iPod which leads from the back of the unit. I guided mine round centre console and have a small amount of cable which I connect to my iPod and then the iPod sits quite happily in the little pocket/coin tray in front of the gear stick.
I can access the menus and control the iPod from the head unit, and it keeps it charged too!
cheers
Niall
Has anyone an idea how to fit an iPod to the older PCM unit? I have a 2001 996 and the PCM is the non-fiberlink unit and does not have a aux input.
Options I am aware of
-FM transmitter (don't like it at all- sound really bad)
- aux input (don't have one)
- cassette adaptor (again sound not the best)
Any suggestions welcome
Many thanks
