Has anyone ever successfully removed their interior door panel pocket door? I want to take this little lid off as I'm wanting to add plaid fabric to it as part of an interior upgrade, but the pocket lid seems very fragile. interior pocket lid 1 interior pocket lid 2 interior pocket lid 3

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hey Daddio. I have never removed the pocket door but I have removed the interior door panel before and it is pretty easy. I looks like you will have to do that to access bolt #39 holding part #37 into place first, in order to remove that door. http://www.autoatlanta.com/porsche-p...section=807-10 Then it looks like the other side is similar to the backseats - there is a dowel #38 that you will pull the door toward you and off of. Looks like no fastener on the other end. Again, this is a very similar design to the hinge mechanism on the back seats with the dowel in the middle. Good luck! Edit: Here's some instructions for removing that door panel if you need them. Very easy! https://www.pelicanparts.com/techart...el_Removal.htm

This is perfect! Thanks so much.
Daddio: Would love to hear that (hopefully) you were able to get that pin out of the armrest lid. Please let me know if some sort of trick was involved not shown in the video. I have given up on a similar project for fear of stripping the end off of it. Moved about 1/4”, then no more. Same problem with both doors…
Yes, success. The pin would not come out for me, so I have to take an innovative approach. I used a hack saw blade and made a small cut into the pin. Wedged a small chisel into the cut and the pin popped out.
Yikes. Very brave. Looks like it worked for you, though. Thanks in advance for the add'l detail, but did you attempt with pliers of some sort first? I took that approach at first, but was stripping the pin. For you...the hacksaw approach enabled greater leverage to push the pin out? Again...thanks in advance. Was about to ship back the replacement covers, but you've offered me hope that a solution is available...
Yes, tried with a needle nose pliers, but could not get a grip. Yes! as with anything Porsche, bravery, courage, and extreme sensitivity. Gently sawed on the pin, then gently tapped the pin out with the chisel.

NICE!! If you dont mind, would you go into some detail on the recovering process. Both my arm rests & visors look like hammered dog crap (with only 34K miles) and Id like to do a similar refresh. Looks great!!!
