Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

Yes , original factory springs & coilovers , that i changed for Ohlins .
Leading evidence: 'Replace ohlins' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Adjust hardness' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

You might also be able to find the strut code on the Bilstein website - some people just change the springs, keep original struts.

Yes, it's not as stiff as my PSS9s on my 964 set around the mid range.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Factory mount.
I can notice on the pics the rear bumperettes usa style , and i'm a bit stonished cause this gt3 MK1 was not exported to usa , due to failed pollution emissions.
Is it a REAL gt3 , or just a 3.4/3.6 with the body elements and wheels of a gt3 ??? (available when the car is bought at the factory , exclusive department , code 999)
Wowza, that's a nice red one you got there.
Yes, this is a clone built on the C4 chassis, essentially the GT3 chassis, and I should introduce it properly here. I posted the question about the suspension because sometimes people can tell you the most amazing things about stuff, though you never know.
It's seen better days so I'd like to upgrade the suspension. This is not stock USA height but the parts look OEM. M030? Is it too low? Euro M030?
I'd like to know what I'm starting with.
I advice you choosing Ohlins dampers Road& track.
You can adjust height , hard or soft , and they are able to be rebuided when necessary.
They have 20 clicks to adjust hardness ,
I monted that on my gt3 one year ago , and it's really a major change.
Ohlins is for sure a better choice than a M030 option.
To know if a car has a M030 , the height can be an element , but this option must figure on the sticker , under the hood.
How hard are the dampers ???
Driving sensations ???
A stock 996 is not very hard , that stays comfortable , even with just shorts springs.
Yes, it's not as stiff as my PSS9s on my 964 set around the mid range. It's lower than stock 996 but looks OEM so I thought it might be M030 or just sport springs. It had H&R springs at some point but these look different.
If they were factory springs they should be color coded. According to the Porsche katalog, a standard 996 coupe would have Blue Brown, M030 would be Grey Blue or maybe Silver Blue. example of color coding below. You might also be able to find the strut code on the Bilstein website - some people just change the springs, keep original struts.
Yes , original factory springs & coilovers , that i changed for Ohlins .
Installing these on a C4 , no , i think there are too numerous differences between C4 and GT3.
Or it will be possible but will costs a lot.
H&R are good dampers , but not as efficients as Ohlins.
I had the choice rebuilding the H&R , or changing for Ohlins ,
PFP Ohlins distributor proposed me a fair price , so i decided to go with.
And no regrets at all : amazing , it's just amazing !!!
if suspension in post 3 is same as car in post 1, that does not look like a GT3.
GT3 had height adjustable Bilstein coilovers, and that suspension appears to be standard springs on non-adjustable struts.
Also, the wheel width and offsets appear wrong.
I had a 996.1 aerokit car that looked just like a GT3 except ride height was higher and wheel widths were slightly narrower. this is what the OP car appears to be IMHO
