Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

2 eligible posts · 0 unverified posts · 1 discussions match the subject in their title or opening post.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

My brother purchased a 2002 996 Coupe C2 in November 2020, car was a non runner and came with the wrong ECU it did have the correct key blade. Long story purchased an ECU and alarm 1 Key, after engine rebuild and most of the running gear, swapped blade and car worked fine passed MOT March 2022. 8 months later remote stopped working, was told if you don’t have the correct ECU Alarm car came with you could not get new keys coded. Early 2023 purchased another ECU at great cost 2 keys, both worked fine, until 6 months later 1 remote stopped working and 3 months after that the other remote stopped as well. Was not happy. I did a lot of research spoke to some companies with no luck getting the keys fixed, the keys were transmitting but car was not responding there was no way I was buying another ECU. I could not fine any posts giving feedback on any fixes so decided to help others from spending a fortune. One post said the Bergvill T-Lock works but nothing on the 996.2, well it did work but only before the alarm arms after that it turned the interior lights on and off but would not unlock the doors. Recently there was a post about key problem and then it turned to remote cases, anyway 1 person posted a link and I found he did fix many keys and items. I got in touch with him and told him my problem, he said send me the keys and alarm module. I left the bonnet open locked car and put my outdoor car cover on. 1 week later I had them back, opened car put key in ignition and turned it once, put the alarm in reconnected the battery and hay presto 2 working remotes, opens bonnet as well. I cannot praise Boyd at Pixelsfixed Enough fantastic service, and here is the link. https://pixelsfixed.co.uk/ So save yourself a fortune and he can fix any key any car even when keys have been lost, lcd displays you name it.

POST 2Original post

Yeah I posted the link the other month. I'm gonna get him round to sort mine next time he's visiting the NW.
