Coverage and how to read this overview

Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

POST 1 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

I have experienced a failure of my left dynamic engine mount on my '15 991 Targa 4S with 16K miles. The early PADM mounts have been problematic and Porsche has revised part at least four times (was part #991.375.059.06, then xxx.07, then xxx.08 and now xxx.09). My Porsche dealer said he has not seen failures with the xxx.09 part which is good news as it's >$1,400. Options are replacing with the new OEM part (Pelican Parts has a tutorial available) or use aftermarket tunable solid mounts and code out the alert. Pelican's new lifetime guarantee sure helps here. Anyone have recent experience to share? Yes, I am reluctant to move away from OE parts, but I'm not tracking my Targa and the PADM system's impact is very much at the margin. I don't want to experience multiple failures of a $1,400 part (2 per vehicle).

POST 2Original post

Hy there i can see your post and i must say OEM Part Replacement: Going with the latest revision of the OEM part may provide you with the benefit of Porsche's engineering and expertise. Since the latest version appears to have improvements and your dealer hasn't seen failures with it, it might offer a more reliable solution for your situation. Aftermarket Solid Mounts: Opting for aftermarket solid mounts provides a different approach. These mounts can offer more durability and performance, especially if you're not tracking your Targa. However, it's important to keep in mind that the change in mounts could potentially affect the overall driving feel, noise, vibration, and handling. ADP Workforce Now App Tunable options might allow you to find a balance that suits your preferences. Thanks and regards ArturoTruji

POST 3 / ORIGINAL POSTEROriginal post

Thanks for the feedback. Of note, Porsche just revised the part again. We're now up to 991.375.059.10. Would love to keep the car original, but given the failures, this $1,400 part is almost a "consumable".

POST 4Original post

It seems Porsche is now up to part no 991.375.059.11 so as wfrykman suggest it is a consumable!
