Hey guys,
So I got this weird whistling sound only when car is warmer
and when it reaches normal working temp it whistles louder.
What it might be?
Video I recorded:

Check the gas cap and the radiator cap… I’ve heard that noise on 996 before and it was radiator cap leak.. they call it the tea pot hiss
Thanks man, I will check it out and will drop a feedback.
Always start easy… now it time to dig
There's a separate pressure cap on the coolant expansion tank in the engine bay, that could be it. Or if there's a tear in the rubber in the OVS that could be it too. Either way I think the
next
step is to investigate in the engine bay.
Good news is that that's loud and consistent enough that it shouldn't be too hard to find, lol. Try poking around with a mechanic's stethoscope, see what you come up with.
Thanks for your time and interaction on this post. I guess the
next
best step is to bring it to mechanics and figure this stuff out. 💁♂️
Another data point. The water pump can make a whistling sound. Mine sounded similar (slightly different pitch). Only after the car warmed-up and only at a dead idle - like at a traffic light. No leaks, over-heating, or other issues. It was replaced under warranty (car was only around 2 years old). In my case (and others reported exact symptoms), it only was at dead idle - even a light touch of the throttle and it went away. I can't tell from your video if yours is that sensitive to idle speed since you aren't just giving it a slight blip.
Someone need to get in there with a mechanic's stethoscope to isolate the location. Anything else is pure speculation. Might be able to do it from beneath, but likely will need to remove engine and/or firewall cover(s) to probe around.
Rear entry panel is coming out at the shop, might as well take it off and look around if you are mechanical and able to affect your own repairs. Other than the surgery site a water pump in our cars isn't horrible to change. Rollers, tensioner or belt? even easier. Personally, I think you need visual access not a stethoscope, that's loud enough to find when it's so clear on a video IMO.
sometimes a leak between two exhaust pipes can sound like a whistling noise. mine is doing that right now and I know it's the exhaust because I just changed it.
Does the whisling stop when you open the oil filler cap? Then the oil/air separator could be blocked.
