Explicit resolution reports before identified causes, performed actions and suggestions. Within each level, matching component labels precede direct query mentions and inherited thread context; successful versus unsuccessful discussion counts, owner confirmations and independent discussion support determine order. This is not a probability of success.

It’s driving me nuts as I haven’t used the car for a few weeks because of this, and I am not sure what to do next.
Leading evidence: 'Use car' (no explicit attributable resolution; this is a reported action or suggestion). Across 1 matching discussions, The most frequently discussed action is 'Check hoses sounds like a simple fix' (1 discussions). For that action, 0 discussions report a resolution and 0 report an unsuccessful attempt. No action has an explicit, attributable resolution report under the current rules. These are forum reports and suggestions, not a confirmed diagnosis.

Thinking it being a Turbo and running a Map he may be able to shed some light on it.

I had a major service done a few months ago by guys who I trust implicitly, new coils, fuel filters, plugs etc using genuine Porsche parts.
Counts describe captured discussions, not unique people or a diagnosis. Author identities are not reliably stored. Exact duplicate evidence is counted once across matching discussions; one discussion counts at most once per action/state. Multiple repairs reported together remain a combination. Suggestions and failed attempts do not establish a fix. Matches cover whole discussions and can include related faults, model variants and incomplete threads.

Hi all.
I have a late 2002 X50 pack TT with the 9e38 tuning package. The car has done 65k miles and has always run fine and boosted up to 1.1bar
I had a major service done a few months ago by guys who I trust implicitly, new coils, fuel filters, plugs etc using genuine Porsche parts.
I picked the car up, it was running fine after about 15miles I filled it with 99 octane fuel. A few miles after this it started to not want to boost (reaches 0.4 IIRC) and what felt to me like an electronic misfire issue with reasonably harsh stuttering.that starts at about 4k rpm. Note it does this when you use a heavy throttle, in a light throttle it’s not nearly as bad.
We changed the plugs just incase the wrong ones were supplied. No difference.
The fuel smelled and seemed fine, but drained and refilled. No difference.
New fuel pump fitted. No difference.
There are no check engine lights or faults recorded in the memory.
Accuators are moving fine and dandy.
It’s driving me nuts as I haven’t used the car for a few weeks because of this, and I am not sure what to do next.
Any thoughts and input greatly appreciated.

Yep I did and have, they did a lot of work for me trying to find the problem FOC but it’s 99% sure it’s nothing they have done and just a coincidence.
Thank you for the welcome, I did have a previous account but for the life of me can’t find or remember the log in.
You say they changed fuel filters at the service? Isn't the fuel filter part of the fuel pump on the 996 turbo? Regardless, if they've done anything with the fuel system, maybe some dirt has been dislodged and now blocked an injector? Only a thought.
I had the fuel filter done at the service, then when the problem reared its head I then took the car back to have the fuel pump replaced as part of the ‘fixing’ process.
Good thinking with a blocked injector.
I have put a load of injector cleaner in the system but made no difference, but I understand that a STP type injector cleaner will only do so much.
Sorry to add, in a rare brain wave I took the car to an old friend of mine who builds rally and race car engines. Thinking it being a Turbo and running a Map he may be able to shed some light on it.
He drove the car and said he thinks the car may of lost the 9e Map and therefore the map isn’t telling the engine what it’s been tuned to do. I called 9e and asked for their thoughts and they said the map can’t be ‘lost’
Sorry for the rambling questions, I don’t mind spending the money to get it running at 100% again but I don’t want to send it away to be fixed without having some clues of what it could be.
I'd guess its a simple boost leak. Maybe at the intercoolers but could be anywhere. Check all the hoses sounds like a simple fix. Who serviced the turbo?
So update but no update.
I sent the car to nine excellence, and they say it’s a fuel pressure problem.
The injectors have been taken out and sonic cleaned but the problem still remains, I’m guessing some gunk is caught in the fuel line
I feel for you, nothing worse when what should be an easy fix turns out to be an incredible problem.
Unfortunately it's impossible to diagnose on here but please let us know if you ever find out the issue.
